Nothing you could've done

Her voice strained as she talked. Her lips chapped, and her mouth dry.  Zelda nodded her  head, and replied back  and voicing her 'thanks'.  He watched the girl, no woman's purple glossed lips smile, sadly.  He knew something was wrong. He knew it. For he felt it. He felt a swirl of worry surround and absorb his entire body. And his mind screamed to do something. But in reality, nothing was happening as of yet.  But still this odd sensation of worry had yet to leave his body.  The young Princess chatted with one another for a moment till Zelda finally said her goodbye. The woman, the beautiful woman that accompanied him on that long, oh very, very long journey, turned to me, smiling. She said something. But his mind was to blurred to make it out.  So instead he watched her. HE watched closely how her lips moved, and when she took a breath. And he even watched a tear down her face. He wondered 'why is she crying?' But when the mirror shattered and she leap forward to leave them. Him. His face fell, as everything came rushing at him. She couldn't go! He couldn't let her. So he stepped forward, outstretching his hand, only for it to be halted.

The blonde haired princess shook her head, telling you silently 'no, she doesn't belong in our world' You stopped, and look at the woman who was leaving you. She smiled again, and waved as her body suddenly started to disappear. You freeze, and for the first time you speak, even know she's gone.


"But I love her"


You didn't mean to say it. No. It slipped passed your lips. But after you said it, you realized that you did truthfully love her. Not because she's so damn beautiful. Not because she's an Princess. But because your Link, and she's Midna, and everything about her makes you smile.



You don't love Zelda
No.
How could you love someone
that everyone suspects you to be with?
It's impossible.

And it makes you sick.




But now the woman you love,  so very  very much, is gone. And you realize there was nothing you could've done in the first place to stop her.

So all you can do now is prey that one day, you two will be reunited again.
